Acetamiprid Technical Material: 2026 Supplier Guide, Price Basis and Formulation Fit

TL;DR — Buyer's guide to acetamiprid TC in 2026 — 97% and 98% grades, SP/SL/WDG formulation fit, imidacloprid comparison and ex-China FOB pricing for MENA distributors.

Acetamiprid is the neonicotinoid distributors turn to when imidacloprid runs into resistance or bee-safety constraint. It shares the same nicotinic acetylcholine receptor mode of action (IRAC Group 4A) but carries a materially different metabolic and ecotox profile: shorter environmental half-life, lower bee acute toxicity than imidacloprid or thiamethoxam, and a cleaner MRL story on leafy greens and greenhouse crops. In markets where imidacloprid is being restricted — the EU is out entirely, Turkey and Gulf states carry blossom-time bans — acetamiprid is the neonicotinoid still doing the work.

Purity grades. Chinese acetamiprid TC is offered at 97% and 98% minimum active. 97% is the market baseline; 98% is the current standard for registered SP, WDG and SC products in Turkey, the Gulf and the EU (yes, the EU — acetamiprid is one of the neonicotinoids still authorised there). The two-percentage-point delta reads through directly to formulation stability and MRL performance on tender crops.

The impurity profile to ask for. Acetamiprid's characteristic impurities are N-cyanomethyl-N'-methyl-N''-nitroguanidine, the desmethyl analogue, and residual 2-chloro-5-chloromethylpyridine (CCMP) — the pyridine feedstock. A serious supplier can produce five-batch data with each impurity below 5 g/kg; CCMP in particular should be below 2 g/kg because higher residuals produce colour and odour problems in the finished SP granule. Suspiciously flat five-batch impurity numbers are fabricated data; walk away.

Formulation fit. Acetamiprid TC feeds three dominant formulations. SP 20% and SP 70% (Soluble Powder / Water-Soluble Powder) are the classic tank-mix foliar products for cotton, vegetables and orchards — SP 20% dominates the retail EC-alternative segment across MENA. WDG 70% is the low-dust professional granule preferred by distributors and drip-irrigation programmes. SL 200 g/L is a smaller-volume, mostly greenhouse product. SC 350 g/L is emerging as a premium format for high-value horticulture.

Acetamiprid vs imidacloprid — the buyer decision. Acetamiprid carries a meaningful pricing premium (typically 40–70% over imidacloprid on a per-kilo basis), so most distributors run both in the portfolio and route each to the crops where it wins. Acetamiprid wins on: greenhouse vegetables (bee-safety and residue), leafy salads and herbs (short half-life, clean MRL), and any tender where imidacloprid resistance in whitefly (Bemisia tabaci Q biotype) has been documented. Imidacloprid wins on: cotton and cereal seed treatment, open-field row crops, and any application where per-hectare cost is the primary driver. The mistake to avoid is one-molecule dependency — resistance rotation between the two neonicotinoids and a Group 9 or Group 23 partner is the current 2026 best practice.

2026 price basis. Q2–Q3 2026 ex-China FOB pricing for acetamiprid 97% TC sits at USD 21–24/kg, with 98% TC at USD 23–26/kg. Pricing has been steady through H1 2026 on comfortable capacity and healthy but not exceptional demand. CIF Istanbul or Mersin adds USD 1.5–2.2/kg on FCL volumes. SP 20% formulation-grade material CIF Turkey trades at USD 6.5–7.5/kg depending on packaging.

Order sizing. Acetamiprid TC ships in 25 kg fibre drums or 1 kg foil bags for smaller lots; a 20 FCL loads 10 MT in drum format. MOQ for direct-from-plant pricing is 500 kg; break-points at 1 MT, 5 MT and 10 MT. Because acetamiprid is a premium neonicotinoid, buyers running annual programmes above 8–10 MT should be paying meaningfully closer to USD 21.5/kg than the top of the range.

WECON's acetamiprid supply. We ship acetamiprid 97% and 98% TC and matched SP 20% / WDG 70% formulations from an MEE-permitted tier-one Chinese neonicotinoid plant, backed by five-batch analysis, Turkish and Arabic MSDS aligned to KKDIK and MEWA formats, and a written non-conformance policy. Share your annual volume, formulation format and destination port and we will return a comparison quote within 24 hours.
